1965 was the first issue of The Processional. It is a formal student yearbook with 160 pages of content, including three pages reserved for autographs at the end. The majority of the student headshots are mainly freshmen (pages 28-66) with a few pages dedicated to sophomores (pages 68-71). In 1965 the college was located at what had previously been a World War II Air Force Base in Bartow, FL.

The main triangular portion is black and includes a branded image of the side of the head of an eagle (school mascot) and "Polk State" written in white. Printed in white on the top of the brain is the trademarked eagle logo above the text "Polk State Libraries Great minds meet at the library!"
